Freight™ Sans Characters

Freight Sans includes two forms of capital J, both of which rest upon the baseline. For initial usage and for titling settings, the alternate form of J is rather narrow.

Freight Sans contains simple forms of lowercase ‘a’ and ‘g’.

Freight Sans contains both upper- and lowercase figures.

Freight Sans’s uppercase figures are of common width. All uppercase figures align consistently in all weights of Freight Sans, Freight Micro, and Freight Text.

The default en- and em-dashes are sized and spaced for ease of use in text. Full-en and -em versions (for purists, and for setting consecutive dashes) reside in the small capitals fonts.

In addition to standard ligatures for fi and fl, ff, ffi, and ffl are provided.

Historically-accurate upright versions of the parentheses, brackets, and braces are included in Freight Sans’ italic fonts. Additional spacing is included to avoid collisions.

Expanded features development by Joshua Darden, with production assistance by Thomas Jockin.

Designed for warm formality in text and an authoritative, helpful tone in display, Freight Sans eschews mannerisms of form in favor of a studied balance of organic and geometric shapes.

Because Freight Sans is a single design for a broad range of uses, it benefits from careful attention to tracking when it is set at very small or very large sizes.
